6.3. Trends and indicators for private cultural financing

Article 8 of the Law Nº 18.985, Law of Donations for Cultural Purposes, is meant to stimulate private support for the finance of cultural and arts projects. Its objective is to promote cultural development throughout the country, by providing new sources of financial support and promoting citizen access to art, cultural, and cultural heritage projects. It is meant as an instrument to promote the active collavoration both of the private anad public sectors in regards to cultural development, insofar that promotes the State and the private sector to participate in the financing of cultural projects that adhere to this benefit (see Chapter 5.1.5). Information on cultural donations is not available to the general public.

Alternatively, in relation to private cofinancing in initiatives that benefit from the competitive funds of th CNCA, available information indicates an increase corresponding to 50% in 2013, managing to obtain $4.393 million pesos in private investments, compared to $2.935 million in 2012 (CNCA, 2012e).
