6.2.3 Sector breakdown

Cultural competitive funds are primarily a public financial support tool for the various art sectors in Chile. According to data from the National Council of Culture and Arts, from 2009 to 2013 there was a budget increase in to that of 25%; while during the last three years projects that directly benefited from Cultural Funds increased by 8.4% (CNCA, 2012e).

The follownig table shows public expenses for competitive funds, categorized by area of finances.
